The Commerce Ministry obliged all gasoline retailers from 1st September to reduce the fuel prices from 1 to 3.89 Baht per liter, depending on the labeling of gasoline. The prices for liquefied natural gas (LPG) raised slightly - 0.18 Bath. This is done to keep inflation at a low level and increase economic growth by the end of the year.
Yesterday, the Ministry stated that the increase in the consumer price index over the past three months was 2.09%, which is 0.8% lower than in same period of 2013. First mid-annual inflation for 8 months was 2.21%.
Director of Trade Policy and Strategy of the Commerce Ministry Amparwon Pichalai said: "Inflation will remain low, as most prices are expected to remain unchanged, and the economy does not show significant growth, due to the low prices for crops." Ministry predicts inflation no more than 2.8% for the whole 2014.

However, the ministry should control the price of oil and fuel, as they may rise sharply in the next quarter, against the background of the tragic events in Ukraine and the political developments in the EU and the United States.
Currently, the Ministry suggested that the price per barrel of Dubai crude oil would not exceed USD 115 until the end of the year.
